Review

Crenshaw Bennett has always been a great guy. From beginning to end, there is no lack of honesty and integrity for him. He’s handsome, he’s successful and he is her dream, always has been. But she has only ever been his kid brother’s best friend. She gave him his nickname, Shaw, while he was in college and demanded a nickname in return. Lizbeth Hasting became Bizzy in an instant. Two other things happened in the same moment, Bizzy  picked Shaw’s career path and she also found the man she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. of course, Shaw didn’t think much of it, Bizzy was a big part of his life, his family, his world.

They relied upon each other, the held each other up in the hard times and they laughed together in the good times. Bizzy became Shaw’s everything, without him even realizing what was happening. It a blink of an eye, he knew she was it. But this was not going to be an easy ride to happily ever after. There was no way of knowing if they would truly make it to that point. There were struggles, there was drama and there was love. More than anything there was love. If love sees us through all things, Ahren Sanders has written the perfect book to show how far we will go for love and what we are willing to do to hold on to those that have always held on to us.

This book had me bawling in an instant and clinging it to my chest in the next. It stole my breath and breathed new life into each page. The struggles, the hope, the love. This book was more than just another story, so much more. The brothers in this book just completely threw me for a loop, they were honest, they were good and they were worth every single good thing that was said about them. But Bizzy… Bizzy was beautiful. She was smart, she knew what each one of the brothers was destined to be and she knew they were her family. She was so amazingly strong and brave and you just can’t help but envy her strength and her heart.

What did I love about the Bennett brothers? EVERY LITTLE THING! When Nicky met Bizzy, they were young they were in the hospital and they pulled one another through the toughest of times. There is nothing could keep them down. Mathis and Shaw and Nicky were honest and good and always had one another’s back, but more than that, they all protected Bizzy. She was one of them and she would always be in their lives and in their family. No matter what.

I don’t want to spoil anything, but I want to tell you, my favorite part of the book was Christmas. First of all, I love Christmas in general, but Christmas in this book… I loved this moment, this time, this holiday! It was raw, it was emotional and the perfect scene in the perfect place. It was powerful and I just clung to the book during this part in complete awe.

Ahren, you took a good story and made it truly great. You have written a lot of books and I have been with you through each one of them and damn, this makes my heart swell. This book is so much more than I have ever read, it is so much more than I ever expected, it is an amazing book and there is so much love in my heart for this book. Not only one more amazing book for you, but a new favorite for me. You have outdone yourself and I am so in love with this book, if five stars is the best, this book is worth 10!

Witness to a murder. Kidnapped by a monster. Life hanging on a whim. Willow Armitage’s world was already falling apart; between getting fired and caring for her chronically ill father, she’s had little room for anything but survival. But that survival hangs in the balance the night she stumbles into a back alley – and watches a stranger die at the hands of the most beautiful man she’s ever seen.Lethal. Powerful. Unstable. Terrifying. The contract killer known only as Priest is a dangerous unknown, and when Willow wakes tied to a chair in his hideout, the only thing she sees in his fox-gold eyes is death. Yet for Priest, Willow is a dilemma: an innocent, a saint among the sinners he cuts down in the streets of Crow City. His code of honor forbids shedding innocent blood. Releasing her will send her straight to the police. The only answer is a warped game, and his promise: that he will find the darkness inside her, expose it, and prove that deep down, everyone is just as monstrous as he…and just as worthy of death.

Yet he unearths not a monster, but a smoldering and secret desire – one that has always terrified Willow, and may be her undoing. His touch sets her alight. His strength burns through her like flame. And his control melts her each time he binds her virgin body, possesses her, teaches her the strength in weakness and the passion in submission. But that passion may be her damnation, and in the end Willow must choose: Priest’s love, or her own life.

When his every kiss is pure sin…can she resist damnation long enough for Priest to find his way to redemption?

Excerpt

His fingers grazed the curve of her waist. With a gasp, she snapped her eyes open. He met her gaze, fox-gold turned hot as melting amber, fierce and animal and stripping her more bare than that exposed, naked flesh. She felt like a butterfly pinned to a board, held by his gaze, her limbs going slack and her struggles stopping against her will. She hardly felt it, when he hooked a fingertip under the bunched edge of her tank top—then ripped with such effortless strength, the threads of the side seam snapping apart one after the other, until there was nothing left of her tank top but rags of cloth. No, she hardly felt that…but she felt it when he teased those rags from underneath the ropes, as every scrap of cloth stroked and washed against her skin until she was nothing but a trembling tangle of sensitivity and frozen breaths building tighter and tighter in her chest.

And she felt it when that taunting, teasing fingertip hooked in her panties, slipping into the opening just above her thigh, and she realized just what he intended to do.

“Don’t touch me.”

Suddenly she could move again—and she writhed against the ropes, fighting to squirm away. But she had barely an inch of slack, nowhere to go but against the ropes, hanging in midair and so fucking helpless she would scream with sheer rage if she didn’t want to cry with sheer hopelessness. Was he enjoying this? Enjoying watching her struggle? Enjoying how her skin tightened and pulled and her nipples swelled and her breaths came shallow with every touch, her fucking disobedient body whispering dirty thing, dirty thing, give me more of that dirty thing while her mind and heart screamed no, no, not like that, never like that?

Was he enjoying having her at his mercy, unable to escape his every touch?

His fingers dug into the fabric of her panties. Clenched it against his fist. Pulled. Cloth creased, bit, burrowed into her dirty, dirty thing, her wet dirty thing, her pulsing dirty thing, and she was a fucking dirty thing when she arched off the seat and cried out and whimpered and mewled, as he dragged the cloth against her and all she felt was sweet-rough friction and that slickness, sickness, wet and running like a licking tongue.

“D-don’t,” she cried again, and yet he only pulled harder, the panties so much worse than the rope when every fold and crease molded to her flesh like liquid fire and left nothing untouched. “Don’t!”

He paused, held that steady pressure, keeping her on the end of a taut-stretched wire. “Are you a virgin, firefly?” he growled.

She spat in his face.

Panting, body heaving, she drew back and spat in his face, and watched with a sort of foggy, dazed satisfaction as it landed in a wet streak on his cheek, dripping down his bronzed skin like a tear. He remained unmoved, watching her steadily, waiting, holding her dangling from the one hand as if he hardly felt her weight and those damnable fingers pulling her panties against her flesh.

“My body is not your business,” she hissed.

“Right now, your body is my property.” He slid a fingertip down into the crease between her hip and thigh, the place where the seam of her panties normally cut in whenever she sat, moved, shifted; there was something too personal about that touch, so close and yet so far, a threat that made her shrink back even as that feeling inside her nearly exploded, that hollow feeling that seemed like a rapacious beast, a dragon with an open maw and empty gullet that was hungry, so hungry to be full. “I want an answer.”

He bunched her panties into his hand again, curling the fabric in stretched wrinkles against his palm—and this time when he pulled he gave no quarter, a single sharp rip and a sound of cloth tearing like tape pulling off the spool, high and shrill. There was a moment’s painful bite, a muted cry welling in her throat, and then the pressure eased as the tatters of her panties fell, forgotten, to the floor.

Still he watched her. And she, naked with nowhere to hide, curled into herself; she felt her nudity like a presence, like a thing touching her and twisting over her flesh to force her to feel every moment of her exposure, every moment of her vulnerability and helplessness. Priest said nothing. He didn’t need to. He never needed to. When he wanted an answer, he got one, and would wait her out as he had before, implacable and unmoving and relentless. She had always imagined men like him to be all force, all bluster, all violence and snarling and threats.

She was quickly learning that silence—silence and careful, metered application of just enough strength to drive his point home—was just as effective as force.

And just as frightening.

Dangling from his grip like a puppy, she hung her head. Anything not to meet those piercing eyes; anything not to feel the shame of giving in to the quiet demand in his gaze; anything to make this end, so he would stop tormenting her and leave her alone.

“…yes,” she mumbled. Still he didn’t speak, or put her down. Defeat sparked into frustration, and she glared at him from under the fall of her hair. “Yes, all right? Are you happy? Is that what you fucking wanted to know?”“Yes,” he said simply, and lowered her to the floor.

Excerpt

My order appears and I
straighten, intending to claim my coffee and find a seat, when a pretty
twenty-something brunette races forward in a puff of sweet, floral-scented
perfume, and grabs it.
“Miss,” I begin, “that’s—”
She takes a sip and
grimaces. “What is this?” She turns to the counter. “Excuse me,” she calls out.
“My drink is wrong.”
“Because it’s not your
drink,” Karen reprimands her, setting a new cup on the counter. “
This is your drink.” She reaches
for my cup and turns it around, pointing to the name scribbled on the side.
“This one’s for Shane.” She glances at me. “I’ll be right back to fix this. I
have another customer.”
I wave my acknowledgment
and she hurries away, while my floral-scented coffee thief faces me, her
porcelain cheeks flushed, her full, really damn distracting mouth, painted
pink. “I’m so sorry,” she offers quickly. “I thought I was the only one without
my coffee and I was in a hurry.” She starts to hand me my coffee and then
quickly sets it on the counter. “You can’t have that. I drank out of it.”
“I saw that,” I say,
picking it up. “You grimaced with disgust after trying it.”
Her eyes, a pale blue that
matches the short-sleeved silk blouse, go wide. “Oh. I mean no. Or I did, but
not because it’s a bad cup of coffee. It’s just very strong.”
“It’s a triple-shot latte.”
“A triple,” she says,
looking quite serious. “Did you know that in some third- world countries they
bottle that stuff and sell it as a way to grow hair on your chest.” She lowers
her voice and whispers, “That’s not a good look for me.”
“Fortunately,” I say in the
midst of a chuckle I would have claimed wasn’t possible five minutes ago, “I
don’t share that dilemma.” I lift my cup and add, “Cheers,” before taking a
drink, the heavy, rich flavor sliding over my tongue.
She pales, looking
exceedingly uncomfortable, before repeating, “I
drank from that cup.”
“I know,” I say, offering
it back to her. “Try another drink.”
She takes the cup and sets
it on the counter. “I can’t drink that. And you can’t either.” She points to
the hole on top, now smudged pink. “My lipstick is all over it and I really
hate to tell you this but it’s all over you too and . . .” She laughs, a soft,
sexy sound, her hands settling on her slender, but curvy hips, accented by a
fitted black skirt. “Sorry. I don’t mean to laugh, but it’s not a good shade
for you.”
I laugh now too, officially
and impossibly charmed by this woman in spite of being in the middle of what
feels like World War III. “Seems you know how to make a lasting impression.”
“Thankfully it’s not
lasting,” she says. “It’ll wipe right off. And thank you for being such a good
sport. I really am sorry again for all of this.”
“Apologize by getting it
off me.”
Confusion puckers her brow.
“What?”
“You put it on me.” I grab
a napkin from the counter and offer it to her. “You get it off.”
“I put it on the cup,” she
says, clearly recovering her quick wit. “
You put it on you.”
“I assure you, that had I
put it on me, we both would have enjoyed it much more than we are now.” I
glance at the napkin.
“Are you going to help me?”
Her cheeks flush and she
hugs herself, her sudden shyness an intriguing contrast to her confident
banter. “I’ll let you know if you don’t get it all.”
My apparently lipstick-
stained lips curve at her quick wit but I take the napkin and wipe my mouth,
arching a questioning brow when I’m done. She points to the corner of my mouth.
“A little more on the left.”
I hand her the napkin. “You do it.”
She inhales, as if for
courage, but takes it. “Fine,” she says, stepping closer, that wicked sweet
scent of hers teasing my nostrils. Wasting no time, she reaches for my mouth,
her body swaying in my direction while my hand itches to settle at her waist. I
want this woman and I’m not letting her get away.
“There,” she says, her arm
lowering, and not about to let her escape, I capture her hand, holding it and
the napkin between us.

Those gorgeous pale blue eyes of hers dart to mine,
wide with surprise, the connection sparking an unmistakable charge between us…

What happens when you’re attracted to the wrong person?

AIDEEN

I didn’t expect to feel so drawn to my best friend’s father when I first meet him.

It’s unexplainable and most of all, it’s unexpected. He drinks too much, is rough around the edges, and is so obviously into casual sex and nothing more, but there’s just something about him that calls out to me.

I’ve thought my heart was battered beyond repair, but maybe I have been wrong.

“There was something so sexual, so carnal, so intense in the way Jensen looked at me.’’

JENSEN

She is my son’s best friend and I know he wants more, but I can’t help it. Whenever she is around or her name is mentioned I’m turned on. I’m not used to denying myself to feeling so strongly for a woman so young, but she gets me.

I can’t do a damn thing to stop these feelings.

No amount of alcohol helps.

I didn’t think it could be possible to feel so drawn to a woman, but it looks like I have been dead wrong.

“I want her to want me just as madly as I do her.’’

Review

Taboo for sure, forbidden, even more. Stephanie Witter takes romance someplace it really shouldn’t go but it is so fun getting there!

Aideen has been Hal’s best friend for years. He has been her pillar through the darkest of times but Hal is just waiting for his change with the beautiful woman. That is if his dad doesn’t step in first and claim what he wants. Yup, taboo and forbidden.

Jensen is 16 years older than Aideen and Hal, but there is something about Aideen that seems to crash barriers and bring him from a dark place. But Hal is his son. This is bad, so bad… and yet, you can’t look away! You have to keep reading.

Forbidden love and taboo romance is what this book is all about but it is also about finding that one person that is just made for you. Sometimes you have to hurt others and sometimes you have to break the rules to make your life count.

Now, with all that said, they are both of age and both consenting adults and can decide for themselves what is right or wrong. But can they convince everyone around them that they know what they are doing?

This book is well written and there is lots of steam. It wasn’t a traditional read for me, but I enjoyed it just the same. I loved seeing all the darkness come to light and that to me indicates a book worth reading!

Excerpt:

“I’m the worst fucker, right? I’m going after the girl my son has feelings for. I actually fucked the girl he’s after. Tell me I’m not bad news now.’’

I cringe, but even then I don’t feel it. I’m supposed to be angry on Hal’s behalf, to be disgusted that a man could go behind his son’s back like this, but I’m not. I want to forget everything and Jensen can do it. I want to be wanted, so wanted that all control has gone out the window and I’ve only known this with Jensen. It’s only Jensen always on my mind, even more than Yann these days. It’s Jensen I crave in a way I’m still unfamiliar with.

“I’m just as bad, then. I only found out today and I still want you.’’

He stops breathing before he lets out a long relieved sigh. “You don’t want to be with him?’’

I shake my head. “Not at all.’’

He comes back to me and forces me to walk backward as he takes a hold of both my hands and locks my wrists behind my back. He’s crowding me and I’m letting him lead. “Do you have any idea how crazy you make me?’’ He backs me against his bike, my ass pushing against the slick machine as he tugs on my wrists behind my back until I lower my back slightly. “Do you know how dangerous it is for me to feel this way? I’m losing it with you, beautiful. I’m lost on the very edge of the cliff now and at any time I’m going to fucking jump. You better be ready to jump with me and fall,’’ he growls out before he releases my wrists to grab my hips and bring me on the bike, my legs wide open, my back to the handle bars. He throws his long leg over the saddle and faces me before he grabs me again and sits me over him until I feel his thick erection against the apex of my thighs, pushing against my aching core.

I lose all train of thought. I can’t process his words, the way his eyes seem desperate for me. All that’s on my mind is the way his hands feel on me, the way he’s already so hard, so ready for me. All I want is him inside me. Now. On his bike.

“Jensen,’’ I say in a sigh as we lock our mouths in a deep kiss that shakes me whole.

I grip his head, my fingers weaving through his short hair as his tongue battles with mine in a delicious war that sends my blood into overdrive. I move against him, pushing just enough to feel his cock rub over my clit through our jeans.

“I want to hear you scream my name until you’re hoarse, beautiful, and you’re going to,’’ he says in my mouth as he unzips my jacket and takes it off me, sending it to the dirty ground full of dead leaves, dry sticks of wood, grass, and moss.

 Author Bio

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia. I am in my thirties and happily married with three gorgeous boys.
My first love has always been reading, so the writing side is very natural to me. Favourite books include anything by Abbi Glines, but Fallen too Far is a favourite, Pulse & Collide by Gail McHugh and The Driven trilogy by K Bromberg.
Hobbies of mine are playing netball; shopping and I love listening to music. I add it into my writing frequently.

I am totally enjoying this rollercoaster of being an Indie author and hoping others enjoy my writing as much as I love writing it.

Shared by Her Soldiers by Dinah McCleod

shared by her soldiersWhen Kaitlyn Green’s husband Sean is deployed overseas, he asks his best friend and fellow soldier, Jarrod Peters, to keep his wife in line while he is gone, even if that means taking her over his knee for a good, hard, bare-bottom spanking as often as he feels it necessary. Kaitlyn is less than thrilled by this arrangement, but despite her embarrassment at being treated like a wayward teenager she cannot help growing closer to Jarrod with each passing month.

Upon returning home, it doesn’t take Sean long to realize that while Kaitlyn remains deeply in love with him, she has developed strong feelings for Jarrod as well. Knowing that Kaitlyn is enough of a handful to keep two men busy, Sean discusses the situation with Jarrod and together they decide that the best solution is to share her completely.

Soon Kaitlyn finds herself being soundly spanked by two firm-handed men and then claimed by both of them at once. Though she is amazed by the intense pleasure which results from surrendering to their skilled, dominant lovemaking, Kaitlyn still cannot help wondering if she will truly be able to keep both men in her life forever. Can Sean and Jarrod prove to her that the bond between the three of them will hold no matter what?

Publisher’s Note: Shared by Her Soldiers is an erotic romance novel that contains spankings, sexual scenes including threesomes, anal play, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Review

Yes, I read the publisher’s note before I purchased this book, and I was ok with everything it said, however, I was left shaking my head through most of it. Not because it was a bad book with a bad story line, I actually for the most part enjoyed reading it and it was well written. However, I had a few issues with this book that I just couldn’t seem to over with the threesome, the sexual scenes, the erotic portions of this and all of that fun stuff… but there is something that just didn’t sit right with me.

Kaitlyn’s husband is deployed and fighting for our country. She is at home waiting. She has been waiting for over a year for Sean to return. But she hasn’t been alone. Her husband asked his best friend to watch out for her and keep her in line during his absence. So the opening scene is her in trouble for letting her fears get the best of her and it turning into anger and misdirecting it at the one she loved. But it is Jarrod, the best friend, that is disciplining her bare butt over his lap. Jarrod promised his bestest that he would look after his girl and keep her in line while Sean was away.

That when Sean returns from overseas, he doesn’t really know his wife and she certainly doesn’t know him anymore. There is a lot of fighting and Sean and Kaitlyn don’t know how to communicate with one another anymore. Jerrod knows how to communicate with Kaitlyn and knows how to handle her antics. He also knows how to communicate with Sean and deal with his angry ass when he is mad at Kaitlyn because he has been there while Sean has been away.

But without Jerrod, Kaitlyn and Sean seem to be walking a dangerous path that they just don’t know how to fix until Sean makes a suggestion based on observation. Will it work if Jerrod is a permanent fixture in their lives and more than just a friendly kind of way? He can take care of Kaitlyn while Sean is away and it is very clear that the two of them have developed a bond while Sean was away. Will it work?

What I didn’t like was that she was constantly being spanked for what she did wrong. I wouldn’t have had an issue with it as it does fall into the BDSM category. But it was the fact that they were spanking her to the point that she was sobbing and crying uncontrollably and then sending her to her hard scratchy wooden chair in the corner to think about what she did wrong. I have read some weird BDSM books before but there was something that just bothered me about the punishment that Kaitlyn was receiving in this book. And I am sorry, but the pepper sauce in the mouth, a spanking and then bar soap in the mouth? Just seems a little over the top. I just kept wondering when the Neanderthal men would start acting like the gentlemen that they are portrayed to be. So they spank her senseless and then open the door for her? What?

I thought this book had a lot of potential to be a great mix of steam, hotness and BDSM, but I lost the connection between Kaitlyn and Sean in the first few chapters and it never seemed like a great love story by the end. It was a lot of Kaitlyn getting in trouble and Jerrod and Sean punishing her. The romance factor just wasn’t there for me.

On Higher Ground

Review

I have missed Dax and Beck so much but nothing could prepare me for the emotions that hit me with On Higher Ground. To say Melissa Collins has outdone herself with this one would be an understatement. This is an amazing follow up to On Sold Ground. Dax and Beck are just the most amazing couple. Made perfectly for one another, shaped by their pasts but brave enough to face the future, as long as they have each other.

If you haven’t read On Solid Ground you have to meet Dax and Beck. Living beyond the pasts they each have but love holding them close enough to see the future, you just can’t help but fall even more in love with these two men.

Dax is still learning to deal with his PTSD from the war has found everything he needs in his life, but he is just waiting for the other shoe to drop because he is convinced that one day Beck is going to realize that it’s just too much. Beck, still reeling from his past and the pain, knows the only thing keeping him sane is Dax. But is it possible that they will each be able to overcome the darkness of their past and move on to the future without something or someone getting in the way?

Melissa Collins has once again brought to light the problems with PTSD, but she also has taken the time to show us teach us a thing or two about dealing with it from the sufferer’s point of view. It is powerful to say the least. But this book is about so much more. It is about creating a life with someone new and letting go of all the things that cause so much pain, and for Dax, that includes figuring out how to deal with his PTSD so it doesn’t get in the way of enjoying his family.

One of my favorite lines from this book is one that Melissa has used many in the past year, “Love is Love.” It seems so simple but it can be so complex. Of course the line typically refers to the guys being gay, but I think with this book, it is so much more. It is loving one another despite the past, with hope for the future and the love of a little girl who thinks the world of both of her dads. Love is love. Love is powerful, love is strength and with the right person, love is possible. Dax and Beck have that possibility if they can only embrace it.

This book is the perfect follow up to On Solid Ground. It is a great read and one you don’t want to let go of when it is over because Dax and Beck are what dreams and love are made of. I fall in love with Melissa’s writing with each book I read and each time it is for different reason, this book is no exception. Dax and Beck are made for one another and this book shows and makes you feel just how much they need one another forever.

Tackling tough subjects and still finding love. Melissa Collins never disappoints! On Higher Ground is fabulous!

Remembering Why I Became A Blogger

Somewhere between a busy work week and a chaotic personal life, I managed to fall out of love with my blog. Yes, I fell out of love with it. There has been so much going on in my life that sitting down each night to post about books just didn’t seem that important. Sure, I love helping authors and I want to see them succeed more than anything. I don’t even really like accepting ARCs of books, I would rather buy them. But I don’t turn them down either because it could be someone’s first book and they want to know if it will do well.

A few things happened this month and I found myself missing the book scene tremendously, remembering how much I want to help the authors and how much I love to read and love to talk about what I read. I wanted to take a minute, or many, to tell you a few things that put my book world into perspective for me again and why I am sitting here writing now and then getting ready to write reviews to begin posting tomorrow, because I am so very thankful for each one of these authors for helping me remember what I loved about this world. So I wanted to take a bit of time and tell you about a few of the authors who made my blog what it was and what it will be again…

Melissa Collins published book number 12 on Tuesday. Twelve books! Which is phenomenal (by the way, my review for book number 12 will go up tomorrow morning)! Here’s the thing that really hit me when I found out it was book number 12 for her: I have been a loyal supporter of her work since the very first book. Twelve books, I have read, devoured and embraced. I was on her first blog tour for her first book! I have watched her work grow and change through those books and I loved every minute of it! Every single word, every tear I cried, every warm fuzzy deep inside, they were all because of her writing!

Today after work, I opened up my Time Hop and saw a memory from three years ago that instantly brought tears to my eyes. Three years ago, I read my most favorite ugly cry book for the first time. That book still holds top spot in my heart for favorite ugly cry. Not many people knew the author, not many people knew the talent… Not many people felt exactly what I was feeling as I was reading that book. But that one book, Every Rose, by Lynetta Halat, became so much more to me than just another book. It built a bond between reader and author. It began a friendship that I treasure so much even now. It moved me to my soul not only because I took a chance on a new author, but because she took a chance on me.

There is a “new” author releasing a book in the near future. Her “name” is Amanda Wylde. There is a reason “new” and “name” are in quotes. This is a pen name. This is a successful author that has written several books, but she is taking a chance on writing outside of her norm, so she chose a pen name to write under. She sent me an email, because I have read books by her in the past under her real name and wanted to know if I would like to read her upcoming release. Well, who am I to say no? A book is a book and I am all for that. I read the book, I fell in love with the book, I emailed Amanda Wylde… I do not know who she is in real life, but this book is going to be a hit! I already know it. But she took a chance on me reading her book as a “new” author…

There is my BFF author. Not a day goes by that her name is not mentioned in my life. I have been fan-girling on her since her first book and we have been friends ever since. Posters of her books hang in my office, my husband calls her his second wife. I have even enjoyed a concert with her from half a continent away! She is the one that no matter what happens she just gets me. What is sad about this author and blogger… we have never met. So when vacation plans were made this year, two of our vacations include this amazing lady! Ahren Sanders, your books and your friendship will forever be in my heart no matter how many books follow… all because a blogger and author started chatting.

There is my Jedi Master author. This is the one author that pushes me out of my comfort zone with each book he writes. I didn’t hop on the Travis Luedke bandwagon until his third book, but it was in those first three books that I had to step out of my comfort zone and try to read paranormal vampire by the third one, it really didn’t matter what Travis wrote, I was going to read it. And I have, every single book and I devour them each with the same passion that I did the first three. He pushes my reading limits and invites me to explore strange new worlds and creates a world of myth, legend and vampires with a bit of steam on the side. Travis Luedke’s books were the unexpected surprise in my reading that I couldn’t get enough of, still can’t.

The haunting author. You know the one who you read a book from a year ago and it was a cliffy and you know you want to read the rest but you can’t remember the name of the book or who the author is, but that story line will haunt you until you have read them all? Seriously, you know that book that you remember the littlest details but you just can’t remember the name of it? And it is literally maddening and frustrating because you are so anxious to read the rest of the books in the series…So Pepper Winters wins in this category for me. I read the first book in the Indebted Series when it was released. But months later, I couldn’t remember what it was called or who it was by, because I had already read 50 other books in that time frame, but the storyline and plot were there in my brain all the time. By the time I finally figured out which book it was that haunted me, I was able to read the entire series, except the last one, which you know I put on my calendar so I would read it as soon as it was available.

That is just six of the hundreds of reason why being a blogger matters and what called me in from the darkness. These are my people! These are my authors… these are why I loved being a blogger to begin with and they are the people that will return me to what I once loved.

All of the authors and books still to be discovered… there is no better time to find my way back into this world then remembering why I started this and those who made it possible.

I am thankful for all of you.
