Carli Sexton has outdone herself with Beholden To You, she just completely captured me from the first page. The characters we know and love from the Killer Next Door series are back, but this time it’s Natalie’s story and it a story that is worth reading. I was hooked from the first page and I didn’t want to stop reading until it was done. There were so many things I had to know and I didn’t want to part with this book until I knew everything.

Natalie gave her heart a long time ago to Ty and amongst the tragedy of losing her parents, she lost him too. He couldn’t handle the distance and broke her heart into a million pieces. She knew that she would never be able to love or trust again. When she lost her sister too, her life crumbled. Everyone she loves leaves her. Her parents, her sister, her boyfriend. She has grown accustomed to her life of being single and independent. But her friends see so much more in her. They know that she always puts her friends first and they know that she would do anything for them.

When something happens in Vegas that brings Mac and Natalie to a new place for a new beginning, things shift inside her. This man makes her want to talk, want to share, want to maybe even love a little. But between Mac’s past creepy ex and the love she held onto for far too long with Ty are thrown at them in force, she really is pulled in many directions. But always coming first in her world, is everyone else.

Let me just say that I love and adore Mac. He just has it so bad for Natalie and it is so endeering how much he wants to take care of her and love her and he will do everything possible to make their situation work out. He is still a man’s man, but he has that soft place that women just cling to. He is amazing and I just could not get enough of his simmering character. But will all truly fabulous characters, he has a past and a freaky ex-girlfriend to top it all off… but the one thing he sees in his future is Natalie and he does everything in his power to make sure it works. But when the past collides with the present, some things are easier to dream about than to make come true.

Natalie is just a strong willed and amazing woman with a heart of gold. She loves her friends beyond words. Yes, she has serious trust issues, she has spent so much time grieving the lost of her family that it is hard for her to open up. She just stole my heart though because even she couldn’t push away the one person that really understood her. I cheered for Natalie is this book, I wanted her to have her fairy tale come true and I wanted to see her happy inside as much as she appeared to be out the outside.

Carli Sexton just has a way of bringing out true emotions and feelings. I want to hug all of her characters and watch them grow into the people they will become. I feel connected to them. For a book to capture me like that takes a lot and I will not soon be forgetting how these characters made me smile, made me cry and made me want so much more for all of them. They all just capture me and I love them so much.

This book is amazing and because I don’t want to ruin a moment of this book for you, the only thing left to say is that it is a five-star book that you won’t want to miss! I loved it!

She looked so open and carefree, that all I wanted to do was scoop her into my arms and kiss her. “I’m going to lay my cards on the table, no pun intended. I like you. I have from the moment you walked into the Statton’s kitchen. I’d like for us to get to know each other better and I want to start dating you when we return to San Diego. How do you feel about that?”

Natalie looked down at her hands for a moment. When she looked up at me she had a coy smile on her face. “I’d like that.”

I was so happy I acted on impulse. I leaned in and kissed her, gently at first, but then I couldn’t hold back and I invaded her mouth with my tongue, stroking hers in an erotic dance. My hands found her waist and I pulled her toward me, positioning her on top of me, her legs straddling my hips. Natalie pulled away and said, “We should slow down. I’m not ready to go this fast.” Her face was flushed, and her breathing, ragged.

Well I have to be honest here… that was one rollercoaster that I was happy to jump off of. Not in a bad way of course, but because this was full of so much suspense and drama I wasn’t sure which way the ride was gonna turn. I wanted to hurl several times during this book just for Kate!

In Carlie Sexton’s third book in The Killer Next Door series, Kate has been taken by the ever so creepy Roger and Neil doesn’t know it has happened yet… Kate had just spent an entire day on a scavenger hunt being pampered at each stop when it happens. Her guard is drugged and she is taken…

I was blown away with this book, there was the amazing love story between Kate and Neil but along with their beautiful love story, you have crazy Roger. This man is going to make everyone’s life a living hell and if that doesn’t work, he’ll just off ya… I will be sleeping with one eye open for a few days. But to me that seemed to make this book effective and kept me reading. I had to know what was going to happen with Roger… always comes back to the creepy and freaky Roger.

The fact that I was at home alone and hearing things go bump in the night and kind of looking around with my Kindle in hand in case Roger somehow got into my house, I could beat him with the electronic device means that I was way too deep into this book. And I was. From start to finish, this book did not leave my hands and I couldn’t put it down for one minute. I was even reading it while making dinner.

Carlie Sexton concluded this wild ride with Roger with an amazing book in Given To You! I love Kate and I had it bad for Neil. Carlie did a great job keeping my attention through all three books so far and I was completely addicted to the sheer angst and irritation of this one! Well played Carlie, well played. You kept my attention from the beginning and I was afraid to put down the book for Kate’s sake… I felt like I was witnessing so much of this story through the writing.

I am now anxiously awaiting the next book, where two amazing friends take center stage.

SNEAK PEEK: PART 10: CHAPTER 1

“Daddy, I have to go to the bathroom. Can we stop please?” Jacob asked.

“Yeah, I’ll find a gas station.”

After he had taken the next exit, he found two options and chose the one with fewer cars and less opportunity for Kate to find help.

“Kate, do you need to use the restroom as well?” he asked with a stern look on his face.

“Why don’t you take Jacob?” she suggested. “When you come back, I can go.”

“Okay, you just sit tight.”

Roger and Jacob got out of the car and headed toward the outdoor bathrooms. Once Roger was out of sight, Kate began looking around to see if anyone could help. She was locked in the car and the windows were up. She tried to open the door, but Roger had some sort of child-safety feature that made it impossible to open the locked door.

She saw an elderly couple, but they were too preoccupied with trying to operate the gas pump. They seemed a little of out sorts and she couldn’t get their attention. She motioned to the guy coming out of the convenience store, but he was glued to his cell phone and totally oblivious to his surroundings. How she wanted to get her hands on his phone.

Roger peered out at Kate from the bathrooms and saw that she was trying to get the attention of other people and attempting to open the door. He walked briskly toward her. When she saw him approaching, with gritted teeth and flaring nostrils, she knew that he was angry with her.

Just then, the waitress returned with his cheesecake. “Here you go, sir. Can I get you anything else?” she said, batting her eyelashes at him. Does every woman he meets throw herself at him. Who could blame her? He was a beautiful man.

“No. That will be all. Thanks,” he said, dismissing her. She sauntered away.

“Okay, I will be highly offended if you don’t try a bite,” he said with a sparkle in his eyes. She opened her mouth indicating that he could feed her. He scooped up a piece with his fork and gently placed it in her mouth. She closed her mouth around the fork and he smoothly pulled it between her lips. Wow! Just wow! Carlie Sexton has done it once again with her follow up novel to Fallen For You… this series may actually cause me to stop breathing. I keep holding my breath waiting for the next ball to drop. It is absolutely crazy! And 100% amazing!

Taken By You picks up about a month after Fallen For You ends. Kate and Charlie have abandoned their perfect little freak zone of an apartment. But Kate is forced to quit her job and avoid her best friend. All out of fear. She doesn’t want to be Roger’s next victim.

But when Kate starts questioning her perfect whirlwind of a relationship things get even more angsty and complicated. But always there lurking is creepy Roger. This guy totally freaks me out!

I fell in love with the characters all over again. Kate and Neil are fabulous and I cannot wait to find out how this story ends!

GAH! This book! This Series! I am always a little apprehensive after reading such an amazing first book in a series, but this second book did not disappoint! Carlie Sexton is an amazing writer who has captured her characters perfectly and I did not want to put this book down. From the beginning I was glued to the pages and am anxiously awaiting the next book by Carlie! This book was amazing!

Kate looked up into his eyes. “Let’s go upstairs, baby,” she said. “I want to show you just how grateful I am to have you in my life.”

Neil grinned at her. He was even more handsome when he smiled, if that was possible.

His dark hair, hazel eyes, and strong jawline made her weak in the knees. She led him up the stairs, feeling strangely powerful that she was initiating sex for the first time. So far, he had been the one to lead her up to the bedroom. She wanted to do everything she could to please him. As soon as they walked in their room, she closed the door behind them.

“Well, what do you have in mind, Miss Simmons?” he asked with a salacious grin.

“You’ll see,” she said coyly. She finished loosening his tie, taking it off. Then she concentrated on his shirt. She pulled the jacket off his broad shoulders and placed it on the chair in the corner. Then she took off his belt and unzipped his pants. She realized that the shoes should have been removed before the pants when she tried to take his pants off. Here she was trying to be seductive, but instead she was making a rookie mistake. She bent down and untied his shoes and took them off. Now she could return to the removal of his pants. Once his pants were off, she laid them over his jacket on the chair.

“You know, this really isn’t fair. I’m down to my boxers and socks and you are completely clothed,” he said, beginning to lift her purple silk knit top over her head. “That’s better. We’re almost even.”

She giggled as she slipped off her shoes. Lastly, he removed her pants. Now they were facing each other, wearing only their underwear.

Kate regained control by pushing him onto the bed. “Ooh, I’m liking where this is heading,” he said, looking up at her.

She slid off his boxers to reveal her target. She kneeled down and wrapped her hand around his expanding shaft. He watched her closely as her mouth approached him with eagerness. She slid the tip of his hardened sheath into her mouth causing Neil to moan loudly. She reveled in the sound of pleasing her man. I really had a hard time deciding whether or not to give Fallen For You four stars or five… but I was so speechless when I finished reading Fallen For You, I realized I had to give it all five stars. With that said the only reason there was ever a question in my mind about how many stars it deserved was because of the ending of this book. Without giving anything away, it was NOT a bad ending at all, just left me wanting so much more!

This book was amazing! I am not sure I can even find the right adjectives to use!

Kate is a college student who is trying to put her life back together after a tragic loss in her life that left her hanging on by a thread. Her and her girlfriend, Charlie, find a great apartment and are eager to start their lives on their own. But what Kate didn’t bargain for was the landlord, Roger.

Yes, Roger is good looking. He knows from phone conversations that his new tenant has to be beautiful and just what he has been waiting for. At first it seems endearing but then the girls move in… suddenly what was endearing is now strange. He always seems to be right there when Kate gets home from work or school. He is trying to win Kate over with his charm…

Then there’s Mark. Mark is the hottie on campus that every girl seems to want, which makes Kate want to stay away. He has enough girls swooning over him; surely he doesn’t need her too. But what Mark wants is exactly that.

Throw into the mix the amazingly hot lawyer, Neil. Neil is supposed to be Kate’s mentor at school, but when he fails to show up for their first meeting, Kate decides she can figure it out on her own. But Neil is persistent and charms his way into her life.

Three amazingly hot guys all going after one woman… whew… this doesn’t just spell trouble, this creates trouble.

I loved the characters in this book. Kate was a smart girl who was just struggling to move beyond her past. Charlie is the awesome supporting friend. Charlie’s boyfriend is the big brother that Kate always needed. Mark was the ladies man. Neil knew exactly what he wanted and wouldn’t stop the chase until he got it. Roger was the creepy landlord who knew what he wanted and was willing to do many things to get exactly what he wanted.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more and more. There was plenty of steam in this book and more than enough suspense for my heart.

When I finished this book my mouth was left gaping wide open searching for words. There were none. It took steamy and scary to a whole new level for me and I just didn’t want to stop reading it!

Carlie Sexton wrote fabulous characters and a gripping story that just left me in shock. I cannot wait for the next book in this series by her and now I know I will be sleeping with one eye open for a while!
